Today was a typical Spring Day, as we all gathered to celebrate the Spring Equinox. We were greeted with blue skies and a very bright sun. Smiles all round as people made their way to the courtyard. As we waited for our procession to begin, we enjoyed the many peacocks walking about. They brought their own colour with them.
Our procession began and we walked towards the Rose Garden, with the soft voices from our Priestesses chanting. An invocation to the Rosa Mundi was made. We stood there holding hands connecting with our senses to the wondrous sounds of nature. In the distance you could hear the calls from the lambs. New buds were plentiful all around us.
We walked in procession towards the Sacred Grove, Cait shared the history of the grove of trees that now represent the Druid Grove of Dana. A priest of the Fellowship of Isis invoked the Goddess Danu. We were invited to touch the ground or a tree and spend a few minutes in contemplation. We thanked the Sacred Grove as we followed the path towards the Abbey. The sun was hiding behind the clouds but peeped out every so often to say hello. As we gathered, one of our priestesses invoked Eiriu in the abbey, the seat of the Noble Order of Tara, a Sister Society within in the Fellowship of Isis.
Now it was time to follow the path towards the temple, here a Priestess invoked the Goddess Persephone. We all made our way into the temple and gathered around Brigid's Sacred Well. Our priestesses invoked different deities and asked them for their assistance today. Cait followed the tradition of reading from Lady Olivia's Oracles. 'The Goddess Inanna of Babylon' the oracle spoke of truth, and the dangers of thinking we are the 'all'. To remember our Divine Purpose and that every being on this planet deserves love. All participants that wanted a blessing from the holy Brigid's Well received one. In quietness we made our way to the main altar as there was a priestess waiting to share an oracle from the Goddess. Today's Oracle came from the Cailleach, she reminded us to hang onto hope in our changing times. As her season comes to an end, she wants us to embrace the light and the growth of the earth. Cait shared a beautiful song with us as we allowed the words from the oracle to seep into us.
A priestess brought us on a gentle journey connecting us with our imagination and spirit. Creative offerings were shared and enjoyed. We were invited to share something out loud that we wanted to shed away from our lives, everyone spoke at the same time. Whispers and more whispers echoed around the main altar. Then Cait invited us all to hold hands, to turn and look at someone keeping eye contact. This was so powerful to feel and see the connections within our fellowship. We each wished each other a spring blessing.
As we sat there, we knew our time in the temple was coming to an end as we could hear the many footsteps of a castle tour overhead. All the deities were thanked for all their assistance during the ceremony.
Today's ceremony was very serene and full of love. What I will take away from today is that we don't have to be perfect, we just have to be ourselves as we are all part of this wonderful fellowship. Community and family are precious sources of soul connections.
Cait gave us all a final blessing and shared the next day for our Bealtaine Festival which is on Saturday 3rd May at 11am. (Please note: Festivals are accessible by invitation only - to request one, please see this page: Events)
