Letter from Cressida Pryor
January 30, 2020
Imbolc 2020
Dear Friends,
I am sitting at my lap top now well wrapped up against the draft that whistles through this room despite every attempt to stop up the gaps inherent in a Victorian building...and very aware how much cold weather may still play out in the months ahead.
So approaching the season of Imbolc brings the glimmer of hope and the prospect of fresh shoots of new growth through the tilth of dark quiet earth. I am also aware at this time of my own hunched shoulders; habitually stooped forwards completing bits of writing, art work or cooking...listening intently too to others as they share their story in the therapy I still have the privilege to offer.
It feels that now is the time to begin to draw breath, drop and open the shoulders, rest back and reach out beyond our atomised selves...to allow and share the prospect of spring as she begins to enter our awareness as mirrored in the earth’s own circulating energies. Now in this time of Brigid, this season of candlelight and connection, the latter is proving even more necessary. The natural response to the growing threat of worldwide viral contagion seems to be to ‘shut down’, build barricades and disappear into our own protective silos. Tomorrow, the 31st we in the UK will cut away from the European Community too and will need to forge new relationships and connections despite the sadness of separation.
We need to pray and open our hearts:
Divine Love, at this time of threat and change
May all that we do flow from our deep connection with you and all beings
And as we feel vulnerable and separate
May we reach out to share each other’s burdens.
And know that we are all one;
We offer this in all the names of the Beloved.
So may it be, in the great Peace. Amen.
With love,
Cressida, FOI Steward
